Everest base camp trek is one of the most exciting mountain trekking in the Everest region as it highlights the beautiful Khumbu glacier, the fast flowing Imja river and the culturally rich town of Namche Bazaar besides the most admired Everest base camp at an altitude of 5364 meter . The route passes through the Khumbu region, a center of Nepalese/Tibetan Buddhism. You will marvel at the ancient monasteries, cross passes and bridges strewn with colorful prayer flags and observe the daily life and ritual of the diverse peoples of this mystical land. The region is renowned for its Sherpa hospitality and culture, its rich alpine vegetation and incredible biodiversity; fascinating museums and traditional villages, all set against a backdrop of the mighty Himalaya.

 

Everest base camp trek starts after arrival in Kathmandu the next day your trek to Everest starts as we will fly to Lukla and land at the Tenzin - Hilary airstrip located high in the hills of Lukla, this is also a gateway to the Khumbu region. We trek to Phakding then on to Namche Bazaar (3440m), the unofficial capital of Khumbu region and a popular spot for trekkers to relax and acclimatize to the high altitude. We will pass through the Sherpa settlements of Tengboche (3860m) and Dingboche (4410m) to Lobuche and the highest accommodation at Gorakshep, from where the final ascent to EBC (Everest Base Camp) at 5364m begins. Prior to this ascent, you will have the opportunity for a dawn hike up Kalapatthar peak from where there are amazing views of the great glaciers and peaks of the Himalaya, crowned by the massive, imposing peak of Mount Everest. We will then descend passing through the settlements in Pheriche, Namche Bazaar, and Lukla before flying back to Kathmandu. Short trek to Everest requires average physical fitness, an ability to walk on sometimes rough terrain for an average of 5-6 hours per day, a positive attitude and a desire to achieve. Itinerary

Mar 8.Arrival at TIA Airport Kathmandu and transfer to the Hotel.

Your much awaited adventure in the Everest region begins. After clearing Immigration and Customs, our representative will meet and greet you and transfer you by private taxi to your hotel in the Thamel district of Kathmandu.Overnight in Kathmandu.


Mar 9.Kathmandu to Lukla (2840m) by Air and trek to Phakding. 2610m (2/3 hrs).

Today we will take an early morning flight to Lukla, gateway to the Everest Region and starting point of our trek. In Lukla you will meet the rest of the trekking team, have some lunch and prepare baggage before heading off along the trail to colourful Phakding village. overnight in Phakding


Mar 10.Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazzar. 3440m (5/6 hrs) .

We will set off early from Phakding and continue with our trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is famous for lively weekend markets, beautiful scenery and long history of trade, culture and friendships.overnight in Namche Bazaar.


Mar 11.Rest Day.

This day is set aside for rest and acclimatization before heading further up the valley.A stay in Namche is a great opportunity to explore the town and local area and most of all acclimatize your body before continuing the ascent to Everest Base Camp. overnight in Namche Bazaar.


Mar 12.Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche. 3860m (5/6 hrs).

After a day of acclimatization in Namche Bazaar we return, refreshed and reinvigorated to the trekking trail.After lunch we shall explore the ancient monastery and watch the rituals by Lamas, hopefully catch a breathtaking sunset over the Himalayan mountain range, identifying Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Ama Dablam and, in season, admire the beautiful rhododendrons in bloom.Overnight stay in Tengboche.


Mar 13.Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche. 4410m (5/6 hrs).

After an early breakfast we will head for Dingboche. The trek starts with a descent to the settlement of Deboche  we shall explore the monastery of Pangboche which is the oldest monastery in Khumbu region. Crossing over some suspension bridges, we shall trek to Somare village. As the trail ascends we will pass smaller hamlets and an increasingly alpine vegetation. overnight in Dingboche.


Mar 14. Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. 4910m (4/5 hrs).

We start our trek with a gentle climb out of Dingboche,and contour along the trail through yak grazing lands and alpine vegetation to reach Dughla. Further along the trail there is a short yet steep hike to Thokla Pass (4830m)  beyond the Thokla Pass, we will reach Lobuche, surrounded by verdant alpine scenery. Don’t miss the breathtaking sunset from Lobuche. Overnight stay in Lobuche.


Mar 15.Trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) (2/3 hrs) and hike to EBC 5364m (2.5 hrs) .

Today is the day! Today you will achieve your goal of reaching Everest Base Camp and getting fantastic views of the highest mountain in the world and Kala Patthar peak.After lunch we will trek along the glacial moraines and sometimes over the glacier itself to reach Everest Base Camp. In peak climbing season the area is dotted with the colourful camps of the mountaineers. You have reached your ultimate destination, your dream has been realized today! We return to Gorakshep. Overnight in Gorakshep.


Mar 16.Early morning hike to Kalapatthar for sunrise then trek back to Pheriche. 4240m (5/6 hrs).

Today we ascend Kalapatthar peak to see the sunrise over world’s tallest peak, Mount Everest and its equally impressive neighbouring mountains. After a short time capturing one of the highlights of this trek we will return to Gorakshep for some refreshment before heading back to Lobuche The trail undulates over rocky terrain, towards Dughla from where we will descend to the Khumbu valley finally reaching Pheriche.Overnight stay in Pheriche.


Mar 17.Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazzar. 3440m (5/6 hrs).

 We start our trek out of Pheriche by a short climb and then descent to Imja River before joining the classical Everest Base Camp Trail. The trail passes through rhododendron forests, smaller settlements such as Somare, crossing over several suspension bridges to Pangboche. overnight in Namche Bazaar.


Mar 18.Trek from Namche Bazzar to Lukla. 2840m (6/7 hrs).

Today we shall have a longer descent to Lukla, the endpoint of our trek. A last chance to view the world’s greatest peaks – Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and others.Time to pack our bags, shop for any souvenirs and celebrate our successful adventure in the Everest region. overnight in Lukla.


Mar 19. Lukla to Kathmandu by Air and transfer to hotel.

Today we take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, once again flying across the Himalayan foothills and marvelling at the amazing mountain scenery. After landing at domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be transferred to the hotel for a well- deserved rest. overnight in Kathmandu.


Mar 20.Kathmandu Rest.

Today we have another rest day. Today we will show you more of Nepal and the Kathmandu Valley’s heritage and culture. The Kathmandu Valley is the melting pot of several cultures, ethnicities and lifestyles. overnight in Kathmandu. .


Mar 21.Final departure.

We will arrange a private vehicle transfer to Airport. The journey from the city to the airport is approximately 45 minutes but can take longer during rush hour. Finally, we would like to thank you for participating in this trek and hope that you will be taking home many precious memories from this adventure to the Everest Region.
