With your arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) at the altitude of 1350m, you are already into the mission of exploring many temples and palaces in Nepal under UNESCO world heritage site list. As you complete the formalities in the immigration of the airport you shall be escorted to the hotel of your stay on a private vehicle. After breakfast at Kathmandu,you will be transferred to the domestic airport and you will fly to Bhairahawa it is about 35 minutes flight landing at the Bhairahawa airport, officially called Gautam Buddha Airport, is an airport designated at Bhairahawa, in the Lumbini zone of Nepal. Bhairahawa is the gateway to Lumbini, the quint essential Buddhist heritage site, which is just 22 km away from the airport. You will be received by our representative at the airport and thereafter you will be transferred to the hotel of your stay. After little refreshment at the Hotel we will start our tour from the new tourist village and visit the World peace pagoda and museum and finally we will visit the Mayadevi temple protecting the 'Marker Stone', Statue of nativity scene and ruins of old temple walls dating from 3rd BC to 12 AD. Starting the day with wakeup call and followed by breakfast today we will drive and visit religious and archaeological sites of Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Niglihara and Sagarhawa. Tilaurakot is the ancient Kapilavastu - the capital of Shakyas, where Buddha spent his first 29 years. Kudan was where Buddha was received by his father after his access to enlightenment. King Suddhodana specially built the Kudan (Nigrodharma Park) for the accommodation of the Buddha and his followers. Gotihawa is the birth place of Krakuchanda Buddha. After breakfast our representative will drop you to Bhairawa airport in a private vehicle for your flight to Kathmandu. After about 35 minutes flight you will land at Kathmandu airport from where our staff will guide you to the Hotel. Today we will visit the World Heritage site of Potala Palace in the morning. The Potala palace is perched on the top of the Red Hill and dominates the skyline of Lhasa. The palace can be divided into two sections, the White Palace and the Red Palace. It was built by Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century and used it as his centre of meditation. It was however in 1645 under the fifth Dalai Lama, Lozang Gyatso, that the palace took a massive shape as the white palace became complete. The construction of the Red Palace began in 1690 and was completed within a span of 4 years.
The famous Sera Monastery was founded in 1419 by Jamchen Chojey also popularly known as Sakya Yeshe, one of the two principal disciple of Tsongkhapa.The Sera university monastery had three basic schools. The first is the Sera Mey Dratsang which was built in 1419 for the purpose of providing basic information on the doctrines of Buddhism and for the orientation of the monks. The second was the Sera Jey Dratsang, built in 1435, which was the largest, and was reserved for itinerant monks. The third one known as Ngagpa Dratsang which was built in 1559 was a school for the teaching of the Gelukpa order. Scriptures written in gold powder, fine statues, scent cloth and unparalleled murals can be found in the halls of this monastery.
Our final attraction of today will be the Jokhang Temple which is the most revered Buddhist temple in Lhasa and of Tibet, built by King Songtsen Gampo in about 642 AD. This temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was originally called, Rasa Tulnang Tsuklakang (House of Mysteries). In the 11th century a learned Buddhist monk named Atisha, taught here and it was after that, that the Jokhang temple got recognition.The construction style in basically Indian in its approach but has been well blended with Nepalese and well as Tibetan influences. The roofs of the temple are gilded with bronze. The rooftop has statues of two golden deer surrounding a Dharma wheel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Lhasa.
After your breakfast at the hotel today In the morning we will visit Drepung Monastery which is the largest monastery in Tibet.Its foundations were laid in 1416 by Jamyang Chojey, a direct disciple of Je Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelukpa Schools. This beautiful monastery is atop the Gambo Utse Mountain, 5 kilometers from the western suburb of Lhasa. Before the Cultural Revolution of 1959, the monastery housed about 15,000 monks. The ground floor of the monastery is organized on the caves and temples of Jamyang Chojey. There are also two white pagodas on which the buildings of this monastery rests. In the southwest corner, there is the Ganden Potrang which is a building which was constructed by the second Dalai Lama in 1530. Later in the day we will be at Mentsekhang (traditional Hospital) the history of Tibetan medicine can be dated back to 2,300 years ago but for giving this a worldwide recognition Mentsekhang played an important role. Mentsekhang, the Tibetan medicine institute was built in 1916 as the center of research for Tibetan medicine. This serves as the traditional Tibetan hospital and is incidentally the largest in Tibet. It is located at Yuthok Lu just west of the Jokhang Temple. This was also the place for calendar calculations and was under the Tibetan local government before the Cultural Revolution in 1959.
Towards the afternoon we will visit Norbulingkga Palace.The palace was built by the seventh Dalai Lama as a modest palace for his summer residence. Later on other structures were added but the most important contribution was made by the present 14th Dalai Lama,who added chapels, gardens, fountains and pools to the east on what the Seventh Dalai Lama had built.Norbulingka when translated literally means the Jeweled Park. After your breakfast today we will transfer you to Gonggar Airport to take a flight back to Kathmandu .On arrival at Kathmandu Airport you will be received by our representative who will guide you to your hotel. After breakfast, you shall be transferred to the Kathmandu Aiport (TIA) for your morning flight to Delhi. After a flight of 1h and 20 min you will land at Delhi International Airport (IGI Airport) Our representative will meet you on your arrival and then you are transferred to your hotel. Later we will proceed for the New Delhi city tour at first we will make a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Qutub Minar, India’s tallest minaret, made of red sandstone and marble and inscribed with verses from the Qur’an. Our next stop will be at Humayun’s Tomb, this is the UNESCO World Heritage site and tomb of a Mughal emperor dating back to the 1500s. Then next we will pass under the high stone archway of India Gate – constructed in the memory of Indian soldiers who died in World War I – and drive along Rajpath (King's Way) you will see the nice ceremonial boulevard heading toward Rashtrapati Bhavan. After your breakfast today we will transfer you to Delhi Airport for your early morning flight to Leh. After a flight of 1h and 20 min you will land at Kushok Bakula airport in Leh at an elevation of 3500m above sea level. You will be received by our representative who will transfer you to the hotel .After cheking into the hotel you will have your breakfast and take a half day at rest for acclimatization. After Lunch we will drive to visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace, Later in the evening you can walk around local market. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel in Leh.
Today after your breakfast at the hotel at first we will drive about 18km to visist the The Spituk monastery, this place offers a commanding view of Indus River. It has a totally new Gompa within the monastery as well as the old Gompa has also been restored meanwhile. It is constructed in a series of tiers with courtyards and steps. Our next destination Sangam Valley is a 48 kilometre drive from Leh and is the confluence of the rivers Indus and Zanskar. Then we will visit Pathar.Sah ib.Gurdwara this gurdwara was built in 1517 to commemorate Guru Nanak's visit to the valley of Ladakh. Next you will be amazed to see the vehicles defying the universal rule of gravity when we will be at the Magnetic Hill after this place we will then visit Alchi Monastery .This 1000 years old Monastery is a group of ancient Buddhist shrines that together form one of the most important religious centres in Ladakh. Today after Leisure Breakfast we will leave for Pangong Lake (4350m), we will drive through Changla Pass 17,350 ft., it is the third highest motorable road in the world.On arriving at Pangong Lake which is almost 134 in length and shared by two countries India & China. You will be fascinated to see its crystal clear water keeps changing its color and this lake contains water which it is the highest salt water Lake in the World Enjoy the beauty of the lake on being at the banks of Pangong Lake while appreciating the changing Colors and fascinating high altitude views of the Lake. In the Morning after breakfast. Today we will proceed for Monastry Tour at first we will visit the Shey Monastery, this Monastery is a renowned place of worship for followers of Buddhism. This monastery was established in 1655 by Ladakh's king Deldan Namgyal, The prime attraction of this shrine is an imposing copper statue of Shakyamuni Buddha .Then we will be at Thikse Monastery ,this monastery is located at an altitude of 3,600 metres (11,800 ft) in the Indus Valley,Thikse Monastery is the largest such structure in central Ladakh.Our final place of visit will be the Hemis Monastery , this monastery is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery and this monastery has a museum and a shop for selling curios. Evening will be free for shopping. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel.
