Annapurna circuit- The most preferred trekking route.

A very rewarding trek,the famous Annapurna Circuit offers the variety of scenery of both the northern and southern Himalayas. Standing always as a  trekkers choice since years this unique trekking trail has received a  record number of  27,068 foreign tourists in 2017   which was  noted as a  highest  number in last 21 years period. Normally, Annapurna Circuit Trek is 14 days trail which starts from Besisahar and ends at Pokhara .The trail  passes through rhododendrons, oak and pine forests gaining elevation slowly to the maximum height of 5416meter at Thorong La Pass.  You will cover 160 km in this circuit.If you have sufficient holidays then you can extend your trek to 18 days and enjoy the beauty of pristine Tilicho lake through Annapurna Circuit via Tilicho Lake trekking.

Annapurna Circuit Trekking is also  referred as one of the most diverse treks in the world. On average daily walk of  6-7 hours you will encounter a sense of accomplishment as you wander through beautiful landscapes, awe-inspiring sceneries, sunrises and sunsets, high alpine valleys, terraced fields and the mightiest of Annapurna massif gradually exposing various peaks on every new day you walk through as you will witness Annapurna I, II, III and IV, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), Manaslu, Gaganpurnaand Tilicho Peaks. The jungle of Annapurna Circuit inhabits different species of animals and birds. Himalayan black bear, Serow, Goral, Barking deer and wild boar are some of the common wild animals found here. Himalayan pheasant and peacock are common species of birds sighted here.

Annapurna Circuit trek commences from Besisahar. The trail then ascends along Kaligandaki Valley. You will also experience the deepest gorge, Kaligandaki Gorge and gradually the trail takes you to Thorang La Pass which offers you astounding views of mountain giants including Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massif. Then, the trails passes via arid valleys of Manang then to Muktinath is a prominent site to visit in this trek route. It is a popular Hindu pilgrimage site. The  108 water spouts and a natural flame which never goes out are the prime attractions of Muktinath Temple . The trek ends with a flight to Pokhara from Jomsom followed by a drive or flight to Kathmandu.

The Annapurna circuit trekking is special from cultural aspects too. Gurung, Magar and Thakali are the major inhabitants of this region. They are indigenous people of Nepal who had inhabited here since long back. Gurung and Magar are popular for their valor. Similarly, Thakalis are famous for their hospitality and most of them are involved in local Teahouse and home stay activities which meets the basic needs of the traveller. Food, hot water and drinks are easily available here. It is a good chance for you to also  taste a  typical Nepali cuisine—daal (lentil), bhat (rice), curry and pickle during your trekking days.
